Peggy and her husband, Tim, enter Peace Corps training three weeks after their marriage. Peggy is immediately thrown into a state of depression and homesickness that only worsens as time goes on. Once in Brazil, culture shock exacerbates the situation. The outlook for the marriage and their Peace Corps service is grim until something unexpected happens.
